Types and Patterns of the Emergency Patient

Abstract
|
|
|
We treated 41, 890 cases of emergency patient at Emergency Room of Wonkwang University Hospital during the past 2 years period from January 1989 to December 1990.
@ES The types and patterns of emergency patients are summarized as follows ;
@EN 1) Factors related to increased occurrence were male (59.16%), age of lst decade, afternoon between 3 : 00 PM and 11 : 00 PM (48.5%), weekend especially on Sunday, July (9.4%) and Summer (27.3%).
2) Internal medical care was major requirement for the patients and the most predominant regional distribution was Iri city (52.25%).
3) Average waiting time for specfalized departmental care was 24.8 min and 23.9% of visited patient was admitted.
4) The number of the patients including DOA (0.96%) and DAA (0.26%) were 511 cases and overall mortallty rate was 1.22%.
